One of my favorite things to do with my students is research! Learning how to ask good questions and find accurate information is an important life skill. As I often tell them, “This is something I use even as a grown-up!”
With beginning researchers, starting with the basics is a must. I like to break it down into four simple steps for my students who are just starting out: Ask a Question, Find Sources, Gather Information, and Organize & Present. You can leave it at that for the youngest students, or go deeper with the older ones. No matter the age, those four steps hold true!
